Installing DigiScope

NOTE: While DigiScope can be installed directly on the Exchange server it is OPTIONAL to do so, i.e. you can install DigiScope on any machine that meets the DigiScope System Requirements

NOTE: To open 64-bit Offline Exchange 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 or 2019 databases, you must install DigiScope on a 64-bit operating system.

WARNING: Running Outlook and DigiScope simultaneously may cause connectivity issues.

  1. Download the latest version of DigiScope from the Lucid8 website.

NOTE: There are 32-bit and a 64-bit versions of DigiScope. Lucid8 highly recommends using the 64-bit installation.  Only use the 32-bit version if you need to open an offline .EDB for  Exchange  5.5, 2000 or 2003 database.

  1. Begin installation by double-clicking it or right-click the file and select "Run as Administrator".

    1. If certain prerequisites have not been installed, you will be prompted to install them before installing DigiScope.

  2. After installing any required prerequisites the InstallShield Wizard Welcome page is displayed. Click the Next > button to continue.

  3. The DigiScope License Agreement page is displayed. Please carefully read the License Agreement and if you agree to the terms, select I accept the terms in the license agreement before clicking the Next > button to continue.

  1. On the Customer Information page...

    1. Enter the name of the user and organization using this copy of DigiScope.

    2. Specify whether DigiScope should be installed for all users of this computer or only the current user.

    3. (Optional) Specify a custom file path in which to install DigiScope by clicking the Change... button.

    4. Click the Next > button to continue.

  1. When the Ready to Install the Program page is displayed,  click the Install button to begin the installation.

  2. While DigiScope is being installed, the Installing DigiScope page will be displayed.  When it completes, you will be presented with the Finish page.

    1. Select whether you would like to launch DigiScope immediately and/or review the Readme file.

    2. Click Finish to finalize the installation.
