Restoring Offline Data to an Alternate Production Mailbox

NOTE: Before attempting to Restore or Export data, review the DigiScope Options Configuration Dialog to ensure that the options for the desired results are set.

There may come a time when it is desired to restore an entire mailbox or just a set of folders from a mailbox in an Offline data source to an alternate mailbox within a Production server.  While you could certainly use the DigiScope drag-and-drop capabilities, you may also take the following steps to expedite the process.

  1. After Adding and Mounting the desired Offline source, navigate to the desired mailbox, folder, or items to be restored from that Offline source.

  2. After Adding and Connecting to the desired Production source, navigate to the desired mailbox or folder to be restored to in that Production source.

  3. Next, click the File > Restore to MailboxName menu option.

NOTE: MailboxName is a variable dependent upon the selected Production mailbox.  For example, in the image below we are attempting to restore to the mailbox of Alex Killinger.

  4. Next, the below dialog will be displayed where you can follow the progress of the restore.  Once it completes, the selected mailbox or folder set is now restored to the selected Production mailbox.

(Optional)  Click Pause to temporarily suspend the restore operation.  (This can useful if, for example, the operation is causing an unexpected burden on the target Exchange server and you would like to finish the operation during office downtime.)  When you are ready for the restore operation to complete, click the Continue button.
