Veritas Clustering Services (VCS) is not officially supported since Lucid8 has not specifically written in integration and awareness of VCS into GOexchange. That being said, we have tested GOexchange and VCS within our lab, and it performs maintenance jobs without error and many clients are successfully utilizing GOexchange in conjunction with VCS. Listed below are some issues you should be aware of when utilizing GOexchange on a server with VCS.
LICENSING:
When licensing the server, the license must be applied to the EVS name, not the physical node.
JOB & SCHEDULE CONFIGURATION:
All jobs and schedules must be created and configured on the EVS, not the physical node.
JOB EXECUTION:
Even though the license is installed on the EVS, you will only be able to run maintenance from the physical node that was active when you installed the license. If you fail the node designated during licensing over to the secondary node, the EVS will show up in DEMO mode on the second node. NOTE: When the EVS fails back over to the original node, the license will be intact.
GENERAL ISSUES:
Under certain circumstances, if the EVS fails then fails back to the node under which GOexchange was originally licensed, the menus options will pop open. To resolve this issue, please shut down the GOexchange console and restart the L8SVLicenseAgent. (This will restart the rest of GOexchange's services.)
