Importing and Exporting Notification Templates

It is possible to share Notification Template definitions between multiple GOexchange servers.  This is done using the Export and Import capabilities of the Notification Templates window.

Export allows you to create a file having all of the settings of an existing Notification Template.

Import allows you to make a new Notification Template from a file made on another GOexchange server.

To export a notification template:
  1. Open the Notification Templates window from the Server menu.

  2. Select the template you wish to export.

  3. In the template's context menu, click Export to File... .

  4. In the Save dialog, chose a path for the file, and click Save.

To import a notification template:
  1. Open the Notification Templates window from the Server menu.

  2. Add an exported template file made on another server.  To do this, either:

    1. Click and drag the file from Windows Explorer onto the Notification Templates window; or...

    2. Right-click a blank portion of the Notification Templates window, and choose Import from File... from the context menu.  In the Select dialog, browse to the exported file and click Open.

  3. When the Message Event Template dialog opens, make any necessary adjustments to the importing template.

NOTE: You may want to change the From address in the template unless both servers have the same configured operator e-mail addresses.

  1. Click OK to save this imported template to the server.

HINT: An easy way to get two servers to use the same templates is to connect a single GOexchange Client to both servers, export the templates of one server to an easy-to-access location like the Desktop, and then click and drag them into the Notification Templates window of the other server.
