The Runtime Limit defines a time by which a job must complete. If a scheduled job is still running when this time is hit, the job will be automatically cancelled.
The Runtime Limit is set in the New - Schedule dialog.
Click the checkbox and choose one of the two automatic limit options:
Estimate (Hours): This value is calculated based on the size of the selected Exchange databases and the type of job that is being scheduled.
Historical (Hours): This value is calculated based on the historical performance of the selected job. The drop-down list contains the highest, mean, and lowest recorded time for the selected job.
Whichever option you select, you may still override the automatically calculated limit and select a different date or time in the date and time boxes. This would be especially recommended in cases where you can afford to give the job more time than the automatic limits suggest.
