What are the main benefits of DigiScope®?
DigiScope® provides the ability to quickly and efficiently open Exchange Information Store Backups, e.g.
the raw database files such as .EDB, STM, and .LOG files, on a machine with Microsoft XP or better operating
system. DigiScope® operators can then rapidly search, recover or extract granular mailboxes, folders,
messages, contacts, appointments, and other email related items.
- Quickly search, find and restore items, folders and mailboxes direct from Exchange Information Store (database) backups;
- The intuitive Microsoft Outlook based interface allows for rapid navigation to any location within an Exchange database or PST file, so that Administrators can quickly find and recover the lost, deleted, or archived information that's required . Utilizing the Outlook type interface, administrators can Drag-n-Drop items to the desired location.
- Selecting SingleTouch restore instructs DigiScope® to automatically restore the information to its original location.
- Enables Exchange administrators to restore multiple mailboxes and items into the live Exchange server by using the Restore Wizard.
- Eliminates the need for mailbox/brick-level backups
- Resulting in reduced administrative and network overhead as well as significant storage savings.
- Support for Outlook native viewers – DigiScope provides the ability to view messaging items without requiring the installation of Microsoft Outlook. However, if the end user has Microsoft Outlook 2000, 2003 or 2007 installed, DigiScope® will automatically utilize the native Outlook forms to view contact, calendar or email items further enhancing the user experience by providing a familiar look and feel.
- Advanced Searching – DigiScope® enables Exchange administrators and legal professionals to design, save and reuse advanced queries across meta-data, message and attachment content.
- Searches within common attachment types – like PDF, DOC(x), XLS(x), PPT(x) and any type of text file and even packaged file formats like ZIP and RAR.
- Physical De-Duplication – queries may be executed across multiple data sources (such as backup copies of the same Exchange store or PST file) in order to find all relevant data in a single discovery pass. The De-Duplication process filters out copies of identical message items found in more than one data source, thereby, ensuring all data is found while reducing the amount of relevant data for further review. Users may also sort the result set by data source, further enhancing their ability to analyze the returned results
- Advanced Export – Exchange administrators and legal professionals can extract search results into various formats such as MSG, XML and PST for further review and analysis.
- PST structured export options – enable users to export the search results in either a single PST file with multiple folders named by mailbox or by saving into multiple PST files one for each mailbox.
- Read-only support for offline EDB files – DigiScope® provides operators the ability to retain forensic integrity of the data source in order to avoid claims of evidence tampering
- Additionally DigiScope® now has the ability open read-only snapshot copies of Exchange Information Stores created by storage vendors
- PST and EDB repair – Allows the operator to execute repair functions against files that are not mountable or have been otherwise corrupted
