What is GOexchange?
GOexchange is the only automated, preventative maintenance solution for Microsoft Exchange 5.5, 2000, 2003 and 2007 Server that addresses all of the issues related to effectively managing and maintaining the Exchange Server environment.
How was GOexchange created?
GOexchange was created in 1996 by a team of Lucid8's expert consultants and software developers who were closely involved with Microsoft Exchange Server design, implementation and disaster recovery services. Based on their experiences with Exchange Server, the team recognized the need for an automated solution that would keep Exchange Servers running in optimum condition, thus creating GOexchange.
What does GOexchange do?
GOexchange provides business enterprises with four key advantages towards the error free and efficient operation of their Microsoft Exchange Servers:
- Prevents Disasters - GOexchange alleviates system degradation and prevents disasters by proactively maintaining Exchange databases to diagnose and remove errors, warnings and inconsistencies before critically effecting Exchange.
- Repairs Problems - GOexchange utilizes a series of sophisticated utilities and tools to automatically repair the hidden problems that silently and slowly accumulate within every Exchange database.
- Accelerates Performance - GOexchange alleviates overloaded Exchange Servers by reducing message stores 30 percent to 55 percent and rebuilding indexes to increase system responsiveness, uptime and reliability. With regular use of GOexchange, Exchange administrators can experience a level of optimized and improved collaboration that enhances overall productivity.
- Centralized Control - With its centralized management console and robust architecture capable of scaling to support hundreds of Exchange Servers across a distributed environment, GOexchange enables administrators to centrally configure, schedule, manage and report all Exchange maintenance activities from one single location.
Why should businesses use GOexchange?
Preventative Maintenance must be performed on all versions of Microsoft Exchange Server on a regular basis to avoid the repercussions of dealing with inevitable, degradation of service, lost productivity and, worst of all, disaster recovery. The failure to conduct routine maintenance within a Microsoft Exchange environment leads to:
- Higher administrative costs
- Reduced productivity
- Slower e-mail
server performance
- Complete Failure
How is GOexchange different from Exchange Server's built-in maintenance routine and other Exchange Server tools provided by Microsoft?
Exchange Server's online maintenance feature performs important background database housekeeping chores that are vital to the smooth and efficient operation of the Information Store, however, this is just a precursor to other maintenance procedures that still must be addressed. There are a variety of Microsoft utilities that can be used to create a manual process to achieve about 80 percent of what GOexchange does automatically, but using these utilities requires expert knowledge and a significant amount of resources to create, test, implement and manage an appropriate maintenance process. Implementing GOexchange is fast, painless and ensures consistent, flawless and timely maintenance of Microsoft Exchange Servers.
Are there any competitors to GOexchange?
There are no other products on the market currently that directly compete with GOexchange.
What versions of Microsoft Exchange Server are supported by GOexchange?
GOexchange version 3.x is the latest release and currently supports Microsoft Exchange 5.5, 2000, 2003 and 2007. GOexchange 3.x also supports Microsoft Clustering for Exchange 5.5, 2000, 2003 and 2007 on Windows 2000 or later.
How much does GOexchange cost?
GOexchange is licensed on a per server basis. The cost of each license is dependent upon the number of mailboxes on the server being licensed and the type of license purchased. Two types of licenses are offered: an Unlimited Maintenance License can be used to perform an unlimited number of maintenance jobs and a Single Shot Maintenance License is offered at a substantially reduced rate and works for a specified number of maintenance jobs depending upon the number of shots purchased.
How do Lucid8's customers quantify the ROI received from GOexchange?
Current data reports that 53 percent of companies have experienced business interruption or monetary loss related to unplanned e-mail
downtime. A simple method to conservatively estimate the average cost per hour of the unplanned downtime is to multiply the average salary of users affected by Microsoft Exchange outages by the length of the outage. For example:
Average Rate: $ 24.00 per hour
# Users affected: 50
Productivity Impact Hourly Cost: $1,200.00 per hour
This conservative estimate does not take into consideration the impact of lost transactions or business caused by the outage, which can dramatically increase GOexchange's ROI.
Does Lucid8 plan to support other Groupware or e-mail
systems?
As a customer-driven organization, Lucid8 is focused on extending GOexchange's capabilities for its Microsoft Exchange customers, but will evaluate support for other Groupware and e-mail
systems as customer demands dictate.
Is Lucid8 a partner of Microsoft?
Yes, Lucid8 is a Microsoft Certified Gold Partner.
