Do you have an Exchange 2013, 2010, 2007, 2003, 2000 or 5.5 Database (EDB) that will not mount due to missing logs, damage or corruption?

Forensic Mount: If an offline database is damaged OR is in a dirty state requiring log rollup and all logs are not available you would normally be forced to execute a full database repair action which can be a lengthy process. As an alternative to a full database repair you can utilize the Forensic Mount option which will attempt to bypass the need for log rollup or repair.

If required DigiScope performs in-depth EDB Repair actions to check and correct log rollup issues, remove errors, corruption and damaged pages in order to repair the Exchange Database and make it mountable via DigiScope for Exchange Data Recovery. Just follow the three (3) simple steps as outlined below;

  • Step 1 - Attempt a Forensic Mount - If an offline database is damaged OR is in a dirty state requiring log rollup and all logs are not available you would normally be forced to execute a full database repair action which can be a lengthy process. As an alternative to a full database repair you can utilize the Forensic Mount option which will attempt to bypass the need for log rollup or repair.

    If the Forensic Mount process fails continue with step 2 to execute a full database repair, otherwise skip to step 3.
  • Step 2 - Request EDB Repair - Right click the dismounted Exchange Database and Select Repair EDB.


  • Step 2.1 - Repairing the EDB - The Exchange Information Store / Database EDB Repair Process Begins:
    • Exchange Database Repair EDB Header Check.
    • Log Recovery If Required (Soft or Hard).
    • In-depth Detailed Exchange Repair .EDB Process.

  • Step 3 - Execute the Desire actions against the Mounted Exchange EDB Database -

    DigiScope Migration Capabilities

    Exporting/Importing from PST and other Exchange migration solutions require old and new servers to be online in order to perform any type of migration. DigiScope eliminates this requirement allowing the complete migration of all or selective Mailbox and Public Folder data into an alternate Exchange Server's Information Store without having to bring the old server online with the new server.

    As an Exchange server is taken out of service, DigiScope can be used to copy all data from the Old Exchange Server's un-mounted Exchange Mailbox or Public Folder Information Stores (EDB files) to the New Exchange server, even cross version i.e. take any offline 5.5, 2000, 2003, 2007, 2010 or 2013 database and restore/migrate the data into an Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010 or 2013 Production Exchange Server.

    NOTE: During the recovery/restore process DigiScope copies the user's previously designated permissions from the old mailbox to the new mailbox.
